Giulipas, always aware of the need to innovate its production department and to meet the needs of its customers, has equipped itself with Fiber LaserTube devices.
Thanks to a new fibre laser source, this technology makes it possible to also cut high-reflecting materials such as aluminium, copper and brass, maintaining excellent cutting quality and speed. Moreover, with more traditional materials such as iron and stainless steel, there is a significant improvement in cutting speeds, for faster production rates.
The laser beam, only 0.05 mm thin, carries out high-precision cuts aimed at obtaining perfect couplings.
The LaserTube machine installed at Giulipas can cut tubes up to 6,500 mm long, if necessary even processing them wholly with no intermediate shearing.
It is able to process round sections from a minimum diameter of 10 mm to a maximum diameter of 154 mm, as well as square or rectangular sections with a maximum diagonal of 170 mm. In case of a square section, the maximum size that can be processed is therefore 120 mm per side.
In addition to closed sections, the machine can also process open sections such as U-shaped profiles, UNPs, angle laminates. It is also possible to process special sections to customer’s specifications, a typical case being extruded aluminium profiles. In this case, the section must be analysed on a case-by-case basis to ensure processing is feasible.
The maximum thickness that can be processed varies depending on the type of material:
– Copper: 3mm
– Brass: 4mm
– Aluminium and Stainless Steel: 5mm
– Iron: 8mm
The addition of Fiber LaserTube technology to the company’s machinery has allowed it to take on completely new markets, such as: technical lighting, light metalwork, handrails, automotive. In these sectors, the laser tube cut has now become a must.
